Vinous 91

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc may not be most aromatic example of the variety you’ll ever encounter, but it is pretty, elegant and balanced, which is more challenging to achieve. It offers delicate, pure flavors of elderflower and pear. While fairly light in body, it provides a pleasurable, succulent juiciness on the mid-palate that gives you something to get your teeth into. Gorgeously grassy, but the tropical fruit has a savoury rather than candied style. Lovely waxy texture and slaty tone on the palate with rather full body for Sauvignon Blanc, and excellent persistence. Surely the flag-bearer for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc these days. (RH) [25/08/2024]
