Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris 94-97
Pretty pink purple with a lively but fine nose. The fruit starts discreetly but then here it comes, delivering a level of class not seen in any of the previous Jadot wines, good though they are. The Clos de Bèze is beautifully balanced, and light on its feet.
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2035
Vinous 91-93
The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an attractive nose with red berry fruit, autumn leaves and subtle graphite scents, all gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. It’s surprisingly creamy in texture and candied towards the finish, though lacks the intrinsic complexity of a truly great vintage. It becomes a little hard with aeration, unlike the Chambertin.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2043
