Tasting Notes
Burghound 96
Markedly floral-suffused aromas are comprised by notes of more distinctly spiced and earthier plum and black cherry where a hint of the sauvage lurks in the background. The equally sleek though notably more voluminous and powerful if less mineral-driven flavors coat the palate with dry extract while offering excellent depth and persistence on the beautifully balanced finale. This is one of the best Mugnier Bonnes Mares in recent memory.
Vinous 95
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru offers lovely red berries, kirsch and blood orange scents on the nose – very harmonious and beautifully focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp acidity (more than Bonnes-Mares) with a very tensile, quite spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. This is just so sublime that I find it difficult to spit out.
