78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot. Cask sample. Pure and precise with plenty of energy and drive. Fruit evident on the nose and palate. Sufficient depth on the latter. Firm and minerally behind but the tannins are silky and refined. Pauillac of a caressing nature. This property continues to improve. Should be GV. (JL)
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2040

The 2020 Haut-Bages Libéral was picked up from 10 until 30 September at 45hl/ha. It has a very harmonious bouquet with blackberry, crushed stone and graphite aromas. The palate is very smooth with an underlying spiciness, veins of blue fruit, quite saline with a touch of liquorice towards the finish. Lots of potential here with a crunchy, structured finish. Peppermint furnishing the aftertaste, this should age with style. Tasted with Clare Lurton at the château.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045

Blackcurrant, orange peel and green coffee bean aromas follow through to a full body with medium, round tannins. Citrusy, juicy and rose bush finish. Chewy and intense. Some old vine character with bark and dark mushroom. Solid! One for the cellar. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. From biodynamically grown grapes. Demeter certification. Try after 2027
