Tasting Notes

The 2019 Cornas Vin Noir comes from three separate parcels (the Pur Noir is from a single lieu-dit), and they look for more concentration and structure in this cuvée. A rich, meaty beast of a wine, it has some classic black fruits, subtle smoke, scorched earth, and graphite notes as well as full-bodied richness on the palate. Fermented with 40% stems, it has terrific fruit and balance, but enough structure to warrant 3-4 years of bottle age. As with most truly great Cornas, it will drink well for over two decades.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2042
