Tasting Notes

Barrel sample but already racked and back into barrel. Lost about 40% in 2018 because of the hail in mid July. Sweet dark fruit like sloes or damsons. Smells like tiny berries but fully ripe. A completely different fruit profile from the Chambolle wines. Riper and darker. Much more chewy, more ‘masculine’, firmly structured. Not trying to charm at all. Building its toned muscle. Pretty dry and telling you to stay away but the tannins are fine if dark and dry. (JH)
