Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 95
I love Emmanuel Brochet’s Champagnes, even if I don’t drink them as often as I would like, due to the tiny production, and the just-released NV Extra-Brut Le Mont Benoit (L18), derived entirely from the 2018 vintage, did nothing to diminish my enthusiasm, as it’s showing brilliantly. Offering up inviting aromas of crisp orchard fruit, blanched almonds, honeycomb, walnuts and fenugreek, it’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with a fine-boned but intensely flavored profile, complemented by a beautiful pinpoint mousse. Brochet is the master of intensity without weight, and this wine exemplifies that.
