The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes opens in the glass with aromas of plums, red berries and peonies mingled with hints of dark chocolate, warm spices and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, its succulent core of fruit is structured around melting tannins and lively acids, concluding with a mineral finish. Pure and charming, this has turned out very well. [William Kelley, 13/02/2020]

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru already has a cohesive, quite intense bouquet with violet petals that infuse the blueberry and black cherry fruit, just a hint of vanilla from the wood that will be assimilated by the time of bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-like freshness. There is plenty of blood orange towards the structured finish that feels precise and mineral-driven. Excellent. [Neal Martin, 10/01/2019]
