Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 95
A wine of gorgeous length and pedigree, the 2010 Il Caberlot is all about depth and textural elegance. Naturally, the 2010 is still an infant, but it should develop nicely with several years in bottle, which is when this wine truly starts to shine. Today, the aromas and flavors are quite intense and savory and it is the wine’s layered personality that is on display. Hints of mocha, juniper berry, espresso, lavender and sage emerge, but they aren’t fully put together yet. The explosiveness of the year is evident, but the 2010 really begs for cellaring. Only Magnums.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029
Wine Advocate 95
The 2010 Il Caberlot is born in a slightly cooler vintage and the wine is extremely vibrant, lively and crisp as a result. There are beautiful floral notes that lift first from the bouquet with rose and lavender on full display. These are followed by delicate layers of spice and a signature touch of cracked white peppercorn. The wine delivers very fine and tight tannins that pull the wine together with fantastic precision and tautness.
