Magnum. Very rich and broad and powerful with great structure. Dry finish.

The 2002 Brut Grand Vintage opens with attractive hints of smoke and licorice, followed by dried pears, apricots and peaches. The 2002 is a sensual Grand Vintage endowed with gorgeous depth and terrific overall balance. The up-front intensity trails off just a bit on the finish. Otherwise, this is a very fine showing. This is Lot LAF 3M AO.
Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015

Tasted at the Grand Vintage vertical at Home House. A languid mousse. The nose is suffused with great mineralite and precision, not a million miles away from DP thought without the apricot blossom frills. The palate has very fine acidity, a stony quality and a sense of reserve. Fresh with touches of citrus peel, fresh lime and a touch of crushed stone towards the finish with a hint of bitter lemon on the aftertaste. Good length. Excellent. Drink now-2025. Tasted October 2010.
