This is the third vintage of Vilmart's top cuvee - Les Blanches Voies Blanc de Blancs.
Blanches Voies is a small south facing vineyard in Rilly, planted with ungrafted 65 year old Pinot & Chardonnay vines – the Blanches Voies comes from the Chardonnay section. Aged in small oak barrels, just 5,800 bottles were produced.
The 2009 is £240-275 a bottle IB (97 pts William Kelley) and the 2011 is sold out in the UK (96 pts Wliiam Kelley). Given the strength of everything else chez Vilmart in 2012, I am prepared to buy this on faith alone.
